On August 10th we are pleased to welcome Amy Graham of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to Radio Green Earth. Amy is the Public Information Officer for FDEP, Florida’s lead state agency for environmental management and stewardship. Amy will be discussing the Florida Green Lodging program, one of three voluntary programs provided by DEP’s office of Sustainable Initiatives. The Florida Green Lodging program designates and recognizes lodging facilities that make a commitment to conserve and protect Florida’s environment.
We are so pleased to welcome Rick Hawkins from the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach to Radio Green Earth. The Breakers Hotel is part of the FDEP Green Lodging Program. Rick will be discussing the Breaker's Green Lodging history and the changes to the Florida Green Lodging Program. He will also describe the environmental initiatives the Breakers has implemented and is currently working on, as well as the history and goals of Localecopia, a new not -for-profit program dedicated to the community sustainability and local sustainable agriculture.
